KADAYAN JOURNAL
I wrote what I felt the day the body of Teoh Beng Hock was found on 17 July, the writing was also picked by Malaysia Today.
Majority Malaysian bloggers feel the same with the passing of Teoh Beng Hock in such a tragic manner. Sentiment is shared across the countries without boundaries.
The immediate responses from readers almost similar, all but dismayed and disgusted by the attitude of the authorities, no amount of consolation to soothe us, worse of all when the Ministers continue bashing and warning us (the general public) by saying not to point finger on MACC.
To direct this simple mind where else and what else can we do?
We are too grieved to bother because far too much manipulation already by our authorities even at the broad day light, it isn’t purely an issue of supporting opposition political parties, many citizens are apolitical. But the inability of the government to answer questions such these (.) enough to turn people deaf ears.
Of all, there was one guy responded and disagreed with what I wrote. I later checked his blog; he is in fact an UMNO supporter, a journalist from the mainstream media. But this doesn’t mean all UMNO supporters agree to what has happening. It’s time to see problems from other perspectives not just from one side.
See what I wrote earlier,
“MACC is responsible until they can prove they are not, under the law based on the present materials available from the media, while in their premises invited by them. And he was under their custody.
Not to indulge in law, I’ m grasping at logic. How did he die? Jumped down? Why did he jump? A few of those knew him said no sign of him likely to commit suicide.
Interrogation till wee hours if he was not a suspect was it not beyond or within the power of MACC?”

“Kadayan
Firstly if you are going to invoke tort, you must at least get it right lah
Plaza Masalam does not belong to MACC, and I am quite sure that public areas in the building such as corridors lift lobbies and fire escape routes are also not theirs to rent. Those areas are the responsibility of the building owner.
Secondly if he had been released from the interrogation and custody then he is no longer under their responsibility
This is not splitting hairs, you want to go into the details then you must be correct and accurate with the details
OK?”
So far these are some of the findings;
The police have confirmed that he fell through the window of the 14th floor (MACC office) and landed on the roof of the 5th floor podium.
They have confirmed that apiece of the window latch was found near the body and a matching broken latch was found in MACC office.
There is a contradicting statement by Dato Shukri Abdul with regards to the time TBH was questioned. The CCTV showed that he entered the building at 515pm.
In another commentary, see below:
“Well-placed sources and officials close to the MACC said Teoh was “manhandled and threatened” by investigators during a 10-hour interrogation as part of a political conspiracy to bring down opposition leaders, led by Anwar Ibrahim, and to implicate them for alleged misuse of funds.
“When he refused to do so, the officers dragged him to a window on the 14-story building and threatened to throw him out,” the said the source who was not authorized to speak to media.
What I’m trying to put across here is the same sentiment now beginning to be shared across the nation regardless racial, religious and cultural differences. Walls are broken make no mistake, we’ve learnt a great lesson, stand up we must, otherwise we would be forever vegetables in eyes of the authorities.

My deepest sympathy goes to the family of Teoh.I can feel their sorrow and grief, losing someone so close to their heart and not certain of what actually happened.
To me I think its best if this matter is left to the authority to investigate and with the forming of a Royal Commission all should remain calm and at peace. We should not ‘add fuel to the fire’ but help this government by stopping all kinds of allegations and suspicions.I think the Government is also in a tight spot regarding this matter but we all can help by letting them handle it and for us to wait for the report. As it is we may just be ’shooting in the dark’ and adding more grief to the family of the late Teoh.

I agree with Kenwang this time, and I also agree with Amde, I think without general public standing up as Amde said, the authority will remain defiance. I remember reading what the Minister-Hishamuddin said that he didn’t sound enthusiastic to have Royal Commission of Inquiry. But the insistence of rakyat not just the opposition political parties, added by the voice of bloggers, writers, and commentators alike this time round it’s too risky for the authority to ignore. I salute you writers-keep writing.
